BAKU. Oct 2 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan will receive Bayraktar Akinci unmanned combat aerial vehicles from Turkey in the near future, Selcuk Bayraktar, chairman of the board and chief technology officer of Baykar, said on Monday.
"Azerbaijani pilots and technicians have completed training rather successfully. Considering this, Akinci UAVs will be delivered to Azerbaijan in the very near future," Bayraktar told journalists on the sidelines of the International Astronautical Congress in Baku.
The first variant of the Bayraktar Akinci combat drone was delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces at a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on August 29, 2021.
Turkish security forces have actively used the Bayraktar Akinci in a number of their operations.
