BRUSSELS. Oct 6 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have accepted an invitation to trilateral talks with the European Union's participation in Brussels, European Council President Charles Michel told reporters on Friday morning.
"I have decided to invite both leaders by the end of October in Brussels. And both leaders agreed to come by the end of October in Brussels for this meeting. And we will work very hard to make progress in the field of the normalization between Azerbaijan and Armenia," Michel said.
Michel, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz met with Pashinyan on Thursday.
The European Union said earlier that a five-sided meeting involving Aliyev might be held in Granada. However, Baku said it would not take part in the consultations.
Baku also said on Thursday that it was ready for the soonest possible trilateral meetings in Brussels in the EU-Azerbaijan-Armenia format.
