MINSK. Oct 6 (Interfax) - The Belarusian army will have "everything it needs" as early as 2024, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has said.
"By the middle of next year, we'll have everything that we need in full, communications, reconnaissance, drones, including combat ones, and active protection systems," Belarus's BelTA state news agency quoted Lukashenko as saying during a working visit to the Brest region on Friday.
Belarus "is not building up its armed forces near the borders of Poland and the Baltic states in order to attack," he said.
"But in defending ourselves, we'll do it actively. So that we're able to go on the offensive at any moment, if necessary," he said.
