Russian Defense Ministry: 3 Ukrainian combat planes downed, 1 destroyed at airfield over past week

MOSCOW. Oct 6 (Interfax) - Russian fighter aircraft and air defense forces have downed three Ukrainian combat planes and destroyed one more at an airfield in the Dnepropetrovsk region over the past week, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

"Russian Aerospace Forces fighter aircraft and air defense systems have downed a Sukhoi Su-27, a Su-25, and a MiG-29 plane of the Ukrainian Air Force near Soldatskoye in the Dnepropetrovsk region and near Sergeyevka and Kleshcheyevka in the Donetsk People's Republic [DPR], and a Su-25 attack plane was also destroyed at the Dolgintsevo airfield in the Dnepropetrovsk region," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Friday.

Air defense crews have intercepted 39 HIMARS, Olkha, and Uragan rockets, four JDAM guided air bombs, three HARM anti-radiation missiles, and two Neptun anti-ship missiles over the past week, he said.

"In addition, 320 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed and disabled by electronic warfare systems," Konashenkov said.

Russian missile and artillery forces and drones have struck a Buk air defense missile launcher near Burlatskoye in the DPR and three P-18 radar stations for detecting and tracking aerial vehicles near Nikanorovka (DPR) and Krinichki and Novobogdanovka in the Nikolayev region, he said.
