Biden's statements on Russian president unacceptable - Kremlin

MOSCOW. Oct 20 (Interfax) - Emotional rhetoric from high-ranking world leaders is unacceptable, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters commenting on the recent statements by U.S. President Joe Biden about Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Putin is a constant topic in the rhetoric of the U.S. establishment, from the low to the top level, and Putin's name is an integral part of U.S. domestic political life. We see that, we've established that, we see it with the naked eye," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters when commenting on the recent statements by President Biden, including the parallels he drew between the Russian leader and the HAMAS movement.

In general, the current period is "a very emotional and potentially dangerous moment in international affairs," he said. "It [the moment] is very emotional, and there are a lot of emotions in the speeches of various politicians, including high-ranking politicians and statesmen. But such rhetoric is hardly befitting of responsible national leaders, and such rhetoric is hardly acceptable to us," Peskov said.

"We don't accept such a tone with respect to the Russian Federation [or] our president," Peskov said.
