Twelve Ukrainian MiG-29, Su-25 planes, two Mi-8 helicopters destroyed over past week - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Oct 20 (Interfax) - Russian forces have downed ten Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jets and two Sukhoi Su-25 attack planes over the past week, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

"As a result of effective operations by fighter jets and air defense units, 12 planes, including ten MiG-29 fighter jets and two Su-25 attack planes, as well as two Mil Mi-8 helicopters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, were destroyed over the past week," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Friday.

Air defense downed seven Ukrainian MiG-29 aircraft over the past 24 hours alone, he said.
