Necessary to receive detailed info on NATO peacekeeping operations center in Kazakhstan - Peskov

MOSCOW. Oct 25 (Interfax) - The Kremlin is hopeful that the Kazakh authorities will provide Moscow with additional information on the deployment of a NATO peacekeeping operations center in Kazakhstan, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has said.

"Of course, it's necessary to collect more detailed information," Peskov told reporters when commenting on the center's opening.

"As regards this entire process of training [peacekeepers] by Americans, we certainly expect to receive additional information from our friends in Astana," he said.

"Peacekeeping missions have their own distinctive features. Kazakhstan's military has participated in them in different parts of the world," Peskov said.

It became known on Tuesday that a NATO peacekeeping operations center had been opened in Kazakhstan. U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan Daniel Rosenblum attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
