MOSCOW. Oct 25 (Interfax) - The ongoing strategic deterrence forces exercise involves simulating a massive nuclear strike in response to an adversary's nuclear strike, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"Comrade Supreme Commander-in Chief, in accordance with the training plan of the Russian Federation Armed Forces, an exercise on control of the Russian Federation Armed Forces is being held under your direction in order to work out the mission of delivering a massive nuclear strike by the strategic offensive forces in retaliation to an adversary's nuclear strike," Shoigu said in his report to President Vladimir Putin.
