Slovenia supplies recon drones to Ukraine

WASHINGTON. Oct 27 (Interfax) - Slovenian company C-Astral recently provided reconnaissance drones to Ukraine, the Defense News media outlet said on Friday.

"Slovenian drone maker C-Astral recently provided reconnaissance systems to Ukrainian troops, the company told Defense News this week," it said.

The drones supplied by the Slovenian company to Ukraine are Belin unmanned aerial systems, otherwise known as the Bramor C4EYE, Defense News said.

"It [the drone] is in fact being used by the Ukrainians and has been for some time," the media outlet quoted Bramor drone pilot at C-Astral Jernej Moderc as saying.

However, Moderc declined to disclose when and how many of the drones were delivered to Ukraine, but said it occurred fairly recently.

It is also unclear whether the Bramor C4EYE systems were sent directly by the company, or if the Slovenian Defense Ministry provided them from its own inventory.

Slovenia has chosen to keep most details about military aid supplies to Kiev classified, Defense News said.

The Belin drone is entirely manufactured and assembled in Slovenia. It is an unarmed aircraft primarily intended for reconnaissance missions as well as to follow convoys.

The Bramor C4EYE system has a maximum flight time of three hours and can operate at distances of 40 kilometers via a line-of-sight communications link.
