MOSCOW. Oct 31 (Interfax) - The information policy and security committees of the Russian State Duma will verify the possible foreign information influence on the events in Makhachkala, Information Policy Committee Chairman Alexander Khinshtein said.
"The State Duma will give a protocol instruction to the information policy and security committees so that they verify the possible facts of foreign information influence on the events that happened in Makhachkala on October 29," Khinshtein said on Telegram on Tuesday.
The Russian Investigative Committee said earlier that on October 29 "persons, who have yet to be identified, started rioting and committing violence at the Uytash Airport (Makhachkala), resisted law enforcement officers and used socially dangerous objects before breaking into the secured airport area and subsequently the runway towards a plane arriving from Israel and the airport terminal where they went on a rampage."
Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on the situation in Dagestan on October 30 that the riots in Makhachkala were provoked through social networks, including from the Ukrainian territory and with the participation of Western security services.
