MOSCOW. Nov 14 (Interfax) - A Russian Emergency Situations Ministry plane is bringing the second group of Russian citizens evacuated from the Gaza Strip from Cairo to Moscow, the ministry's press service said on Tuesday.
"A special plane of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry departed Cairo for Moscow. The Ilyushin Il-76 plane will bring 98 compatriots to Russia today," the ministry said in a statement.
The first group of 70 Russian citizens arrived in Moscow on Monday. A Russian Emergency Situations Ministry plane landed at Domodedovo Airport.
On November 12, Russian rescuers jointly with diplomats organized efforts to evacuate Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip.
In total, almost 170 Russian citizens crossed the Rafah checkpoint on Sunday and Monday.
On October 7, the Hamas radical group based in Gaza attacked Israel. The Israel Defense Forces launched a military operation against Hamas in retaliation.
