Ukrainian MiG-29 downed over DPR, JDAM bomb intercepted in past day - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Nov 16 (Interfax) - The Russian Armed Forces have downed a Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 fighter jet over the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Thursday.

"Fighter aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces downed a MiG-29 plane of the Ukrainian Air Force near the town of Krasnoarmeisk in the Donetsk People's Republic," Konashenkov said.

"Air defenses intercepted two U.S.-made HIMARS missiles and a JDAM guided air-launched bomb," he said.

Twenty-six Ukrainian drones were downed over a number of districts in the past day, Konashenkov said.
