Russian Emergency Situations Ministry delivers eighth batch of relief supplies for Gaza population to Egypt

MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax) - The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry has delivered another 27 tonnes of humanitarian aid intended for the Gaza population to Egypt, the ministry's press service said on Tuesday.

"The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry's plane with humanitarian aid aboard has arrived at the airport in the city of Al-Arish from Dagestan," the press service said.

The plane took off from Makhachkala at around 6:20 a.m. The humanitarian cargo will be transferred to the Egyptian Red Crescent for handing over to the Gaza Strip.

It is the eighth batch of humanitarian aid for the Gaza population. The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry earlier sent several dozen tonnes of relief supplies to the region, including mattresses, pillows, personal hygiene supplies, foodstuffs, and baby food.
