Putin: Humanitarian pauses important for release of hostages, evacuations from Gaza

MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has supported a UN Security Council resolution calling for humanitarian pauses in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and noted the importance of such pauses for the release of hostages and evacuations from Gaza.

"Such humanitarian pauses, or even better, of course, a full-scale ceasefire are necessary for continuing efforts towards releasing hostages and evacuating civilians and foreign citizens from the Gaza Strip," Putin said at the extraordinary BRICS summit on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on Tuesday.

In that context, he supported the latest UN Security Council resolution, which calls for arranging humanitarian pauses in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
