MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will accept credentials from a number of new foreign ambassadors and host a presidential Human Rights Council meeting via video link on Monday, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"He will accept credentials from newly-arrived ambassadors today," Peskov told journalists on Monday.
"As a rule, at such ceremonies, the president gives a speech reviewing foreign policy matters, including as concerns the states whose representatives are presenting their credentials," he said.
"In the evening, the president will participate in a meeting of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights," Peskov said, adding that this event would be held in a video conference format.
The meeting's participants will brief the president on implementing the directives he gave at previous meetings with the council and discuss measures of support for military personnel and volunteers involved in the special military operation, as well as their family members, Peskov said.
They will also address the trend towards ousting Russian-speaking people from European Union countries, the development of school education, arranging accessible medical care for the homeless and undocumented people, and problems with the penitentiary system, he said.
Putin will also take part in an awards ceremony for the winners in the Volunteer of the Year category of the We Are Together international prize at the VDNKh exhibition center, he said.
Putin is not planning any other international contacts for Monday, Peskov said.
"There will be more international contacts later this week," Peskov said, adding that he would announce them in due time.
