Russian, Saudi diplomats continuing contacts to adopt joint document on bilateral relations - Peskov

RIYADH. Dec 7 (Interfax) - Russian and Saudi diplomats are continuing contacts to facilitate the adoption of a joint document that will reflect the two countries' common understanding on bilateral relations and international aspects, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"Our diplomats and Saudi diplomats are continuing contacts and are considering the possibility to reaching a certain joint document. But, more likely, it is being done in order to sum up the common understanding that was achieved at the talks," Peskov told reporters after being asked whether there will be a final document following the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

This does not involve any joint peace initiatives with regard to the situation in the Middle East, he said.

"Rather, it's about bilateral relations in general and, let's put it this way, shared views on international affairs," Peskov said.
