Shoigu: Russia's output of tanks up 5.6 times, IFVs 3.6 times, APCs 3.5 times, drones 16.8 times, artillery rounds 17.5 times

MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - The Russian industry has boosted the output of military hardware for the needs of the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

"The output of tanks has been increased 5.6 times, infantry fighting vehicles 3.6 times, armored personnel carriers 3.5 times, unmanned aerial vehicles 16.8 times, and artillery rounds 17.5 times, which is extremely important," Shoigu said at an expanded Defense Ministry board meeting on Tuesday.

Russia's defense industry sector has quadrupled its capacity and switched to round-the-clock operations, he said.

"The troops are provided with ammunition in the amount required for their missions in the special operation zone now," Shoigu said.

The capacity of repair and maintenance military garrisons and units has been increased 1.5 times, and over 270 field repair and maintenance workshops have been set up in the special military operation zone, he said.

"This has resulted in increasing the rate of repairing hardware and restoring its combat capability 2.5 times," he said.
