MOSCOW. Dec 21 (Interfax) - The Russian Armed Forces are continuously broadening their control zones in all sectors of the special military operation, holding their positions along the entire line of combat contact, Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov said.
"Russian forces are successfully conducting active defense operations, confidently holding their positions along the entire line of combat contact and continuously expanding their control zone in all areas," Gerasimov said at a briefing for foreign military attaches.
Strikes are being delivered on the Ukrainian army all the time, stopping it from moving forward, he said.
"In order to achieve the goals of the special military operation, long-range precision-guided weapons are delivering strikes on command posts of the Ukrainian army's groups of forces, defense enterprises and critical military facilities. In all, 1,500 targets have been hit," Gerasimov said.
"One of the results of using precision-guided weapons was a significant drop in production by Ukraine's defense industry," he said.
