MOSCOW. Dec 22 (Interfax) - A Russian Emergency Situations Ministry plane is heading to Egypt, carrying 20 tonnes of humanitarian aid, such as food, medicines and clothes, intended for the Gaza Strip population, a report published on the ministry's Telegram channel said.
"The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry will deliver 20 tonnes of humanitarian aid for Gaza residents - food, medicines, clothes, blankets, footwear, and personal hygiene items. The Emergency Situations Ministry's [Ilyushin] Il-76 plane is flying to Egypt's El-Arish with another batch of relief supplies on board," the ministry said.
The humanitarian mission, ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been carried out on instructions from Emergency Situations Minister Alexander Kurenkov.
