MOSCOW. Dec 25 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered that the commanders and troops who excelled in the fighting for Maryinka in the Donetsk People's Republic be decorated with state awards.
"I know that our servicemen fought excellently. Undoubtedly, they deserve state awards. Please make a proposal regarding everyone whom you consider to have distinguished themselves the most," Putin said at a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
"There are commanders and troops who are already known. Their commanders know how they fought. One of them is Alexander Konstantinovich Troshin. He is the commander of a tank battalion and a senior lieutenant," Putin said.
