Ukrainian army attacks 5 districts in Russia's Belgorod region over past day, casualties reported

BELGOROD. Dec 26 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces delivered strikes on Russia's Belgorod region over the past 24 hours, the region's governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

Two men were injured when the farmstead of Maryino in the Shebekino municipal district came under mortar fire from Ukrainian territory, Gladkov said.

"Five hits were recorded. There are two casualties. The men, who sustained blast injuries, have been taken to Belgorod's City Hospital No. 2, where doctors are providing them with all necessary aid. Their condition is assessed as moderately severe," Gladkov said on his Telegram channel.

Two mortar rounds were fired at the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka in the Shebekino municipal district and another three at the village of Belyanka and the Shebekino international automobile border crossing. A kamikaze drone crashed in the village of Sereda. A fragmentation munition was also dropped on Sereda from a drone. There were no casualties or damage in these communities as a result of the incidents.

The largest number of strikes has been recorded in the Belgorodsky district.

"Twenty-two artillery rounds were fired at the village of Zhuravlyovka and seven artillery rounds were fired at the Nekhoteyevka international automobile border crossing. There were no casualties or damage," Gladkov said.

Two kamikaze drones attacked an excavator on the outskirts of the farmstead of Lozovaya Rudka in the Borisovka district. The incident did not entail any consequences.

A mortar round was fired on the outskirts of the farmstead of Stary in the Volokonovka district. There were no injuries or damage.

One hit was recorded on the outskirts of the village of Nadyozhevka in the Krasnaya Yaruga district. The incident did not cause any casualties or damage.
