BAKU. Dec 26 (Interfax) - The Azerbaijani state budget allots 6,421,047,420 manats, or
$3.77 billion, for defense and national security in 2024.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed into law the bill on the 2024 state budget. The law is published on the presidential website on Tuesday.
Defense and national security expenses will amount to 17.4% of next year's budget.
Such expenses will grow 6% year-on-year.
The budget allots 2,465,550,000 manats ($1.45 billion) for the Armed Forces, 413.4 million manats ($243.2 million) for national security, and 487.7 million manats ($268.9 million) for the border service, the document says.
Allocations of special defense projects and measures will amount to 3 billion manats ($1.76 billion), and the rest will be spent on other purposes in 2024.
