MOSCOW. Dec 26 (Interfax) - The enhancement of the Russian Armed Forces must continue in order to ensure peaceful socioeconomic development, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"Under the current circumstances, the Defense Ministry continues doing regular work to build the strong, reliable, well-equipped and motivated Armed Forces," Shoigu said at the end-of-year teleconference on Tuesday.
This is how "peaceful socioeconomic development of our country can be ensured and conditions can be created to stabilize the situation in certain conflict regions and the world at large," he said.
"The supreme commander-in-chief set 2024 priorities for the Defense Ministry at an expanded board meeting. This is what we will talk about at the teleconference in January," Shoigu said.
