Three injured in Ukrainian attack on Russia's Belgorod - regional governor

VORONEZH. Jan 9 (Interfax) - The city of Belgorod and its suburbs have come under attack from Ukrainian territory, Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

"Our air defense system downed ten approaching airborne targets over Belgorod and the Belgorodsky district. Emergency services are verifying information on the aftermath on the ground. The preliminary information available indicates that three people were injured - a woman suffered fragmentation wounds to her back, a man sustained fragmentation wounds to his chest, back and forearm, and another man suffered a fragmentation wound to his chest and upper extremity," Gladkov said on his Telegram channel on Monday.

Windows were also blown out in two apartment buildings and one private house and three cars were damaged in Belgorod, he said. Four trucks caught fire at an enterprise's parking lot. The blaze has already been put out. The roof of a private house was damaged in the Belgorodsky district.
