MOSCOW. Jan 9 (Interfax) - The Russian Armed Forces will do their utmost to put an end to attacks such as those targeting Belgorod and other sites inside Russia, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"This was possible because the Kiev regime doesn't stop at shelling civilian sites. We've observed the use of cluster munitions [to attack] the city center. I'll stress, not military sites but the city center, where there are no military sites. Naturally, our military will keep on doing their utmost to minimize this danger first and then fully eliminate it. That's why the special military operation is continuing," Peskov told journalists on Tuesday, when asked why the attacks on Belgorod became possible.
Peskov was also asked to comment on the White House's statements that Russia started using North Korean ordnance.
"We'll leave that without comment. In this respect, I'd probably prefer to point out that our territory and civilian sites, [including] the center of Belgorod, have been shelled regularly with rounds and missiles manufactured in Germany, France, Italy, the United States, and other countries. Let's not forget about that," Peskov said.
