Russia's Snezhnogorsk ASW corvette holds artillery drill in Barents Sea

MOSCOW. Jan 16 (Interfax) - The Snezhnogorsk anti-submarine warfare (ASW) corvette has held an artillery drill in the Barents Sea, the Russian Northern Fleet said on Tuesday.

"Today, the Snezhnogorsk ASW corvette of the Northern Fleet's Kola Combined-Arms Flotilla held an artillery drill at training ranges in the Barents Sea," the fleet press service said.

"AK-176 and AK-630 artillery batteries successfully practiced engagement of a mock enemy's surface ship with intensive maneuvering and hit coastal targets from various distances," it said.

The ship also trained in air defense and repelled an airstrike by the mock enemy, the press service said.

The Snezhnogorsk returned to base in Polyarny at the end of the exercise, it said.
