MOSCOW. Jan 23 (Interfax) - Moscow's Tagansky District Court has fined the Twitch video service 1 million rubles for not removing prohibited content, the court told Interfax.
"An administrative fine of 1 million rubles has been imposed on Twitch Interactive Inc.," the court said on Tuesday.
The company was found guilty of not removing prohibited information.
The service was fined 3 million rubles for a similar offense in August 2023.
Earlier on Tuesday, the court fined Apple 800,000 rubles for failure to remove works designated as extremist in Russia from the Apple Books service at the demand of the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor).
In recent years, the largest online services, including Apple, Google, Telegram, Facebook (an information resource of an entity banned in Russia), Twitter, TikTok and the Wikimedia Foundation, have been repeatedly fined in Russia for not removing prohibited content.
