Patrushev discusses new long-term bilateral treaty with Iranian counterpart - Russian Security Council

MOSCOW. Jan 24 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Ahmadian discussed preparations for a new long-term treaty between Moscow and Tehran at negotiations in Moscow, the Russian Security Council said on Wednesday.

"The parties touched on the drafting of a new long-term bilateral comprehensive treaty. It was emphasized that concluding this founding document would give a strong impetus to further intensifying mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas," the council said following the talks.

"The parties noted that Russian-Iranian relations continue to strengthen and are reaching a qualitatively new level across the entire range of areas. They reaffirmed their determination to practically implement the agreements reached at the top level," it said.
