Russian, Iranian security council secretaries discuss national economic security under sanctions - Russian Security Council (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Jan 24 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Akbar Ahmadian have held negotiations in Moscow, the press service for the Russian Security Council said.

"Emphasis was placed on the fight against terrorism, information security, ensuring Russian and Iranian economic security under Western sanctions, and countering attempted foreign interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states," the press service said.

The meeting addressed a broad range of aspects of Russian-Iranian security cooperation, including that between both countries' security councils, law enforcement agencies and security services, it said.

"Global and regional trends as well as bilateral and multilateral contacts of the Russian and Iranian security councils planned for 2024 were also discussed at the meeting. The schedule for the working groups of both security councils with regard to matters of mutual interest was agreed upon," the press service said.
