MOSCOW. Jan 26 (Interfax) - More than 2,700 buildings and facilities were constructed in 2023 for the Russian army's needs, primarily for the nuclear forces, airfields and Navy bases, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"The main efforts were focused on creating infrastructure for the deployment of nuclear deterrence forces and hardware, upgrading the airfield network and the system of Navy bases, and on the development of the country's new regions," Shoigu said on the occasion of the Unified Military Goods Commissioning Day.
A total of 2,772 such buildings and facilities were constructed in 2023, he said.
They were built for the needs of the special military operation and for other military and special purposes, Shoigu said.
