BELGOROD. Jan 29 (Interfax) - A number of districts in Russia's Belgorod region came under attack from Ukraine in the past 24 hours, causing one casualty, governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
A kamikaze drone struck an excavator between the village of Kolotilovka and the town of Prilesye in the Krasnaya Yaruga district, Gladkov said.
"The explosion hurt a worker, who sustained an injury to the right-side anterior tibial artery. The man's condition is currently grave. He has been put on ventilator at an ICU. Doctors are treating him at City Hospital No. 2," Gladkov said.
Two kamikaze drones attacked Solntsevka village in the Belgorod district, and a drone was downed over Novaya Derevnya. There were no casualties or damage in either location, he said.
"After air defense repelled a Ukrainian airstrike on January 28, damage was reported from the town of Razumnoye, where the exterior of a private house was scarred and a car was damaged. The roof of a private house was hit in the village of Belovskoye," Gladkov said.
A fixed-wing drone was downed over Tishanka in the Volokonovka district. No damage was done on the ground, he said.
"Thirty-six grenades and 50 machinegun shots hit the outskirts of the Lozovaya Rudka village in the Borisovka district. The enemy also attacked its ouutskirts with four kamikaze drones. There were no casualties or damage," Gladkov said.
Six mortar shells were fired at the outskirts of Dronovka in the Graivoron urban district. Two bombs were dropped from drones over the outskirts of Novostroyevka Vtoraya and on the Bairak village, he said.
There were no casualties or damage in either location, Gladkov said.
The border territories of the Belgorod region have come under sporadic attack from Ukraine since February 24, 2022. Civilian casualties have been reported. The region declared a yellow (high) level of terrorist alert and a state of emergency in 15 border settlements.
