BAKU/MOSCOW. Jan 31 (Interfax) - The Emergency Situations Ministries of Azerbaijan and Russia signed a joint action plan for 2024-2026 in Baku on Wednesday, the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry said.
The document was signed by Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov and his Russian counterpart Alexander Kurenkov.
The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry in turn has announced plans to hold the Caspian Sea emergency response exercise in Astrakhan in 2026.
"There are plans to hold a joint exercise in Astrakhan in 2026 and to invite the rescue services of other Caspian littoral states to take part in it," Kurenkov said.
The Caspian Sea emergency response exercise was held for three years in a row before the Covid-19 pandemic.
It was reported the day before that the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry intends to resume joint exercises with all Caspian littoral states.
