Armenian army has to be strengthened to defend territory identical to Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic - Pashinyan

YEREVAN. Feb 1 (Interfax) - Armenia is strengthening its army in order to protect the country's territorial integrity, not to restore historical justice, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

"Our army must be strengthened to safeguard our country's territorial integrity, independence, [and] sovereignty. Our country's territorial integrity is the territory identical to that of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic," Pashinyan said in an interview with the Public Radio of Armenia.

"If we strengthen the army in order to restore, for example, historical justice, then the question arises as to why others should allow this army to become stronger and to resolve the issue of historical justice," he said.
