Five settlements in Russia's Belgorod region left without power due to power line damage in Ukrainian attack

BELGOROD. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Electrical power supply to some populated areas in the Belgorod region stopped as a result of a Ukrainian attack on Friday, governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

"The settlement of Grafovka, Krasnoyaryzhsky district, came under fire from Ukrainian forces. No one was hurt. A power line was damaged, power supply stopped to consumers in the following populated areas: Grafovka, Popovka, Novaya Repyakhovka, Prilesye, and Demidovka," Gladkov said on his Telegram channel.

There is damage in the residential sector, he said.

"A window was broken, the front part of a building was damaged with fragments, and gas supply stopped in one private household. Operative and emergency services will start eliminating the consequences after coordination with the Russian Defense Ministry," Gladkov said.

The border territories of the Belgorod region have come under attack from Ukraine since February 24, 2022. Civilian casualties have been reported. The region has declared a yellow (high) level of terrorist alert and a state of emergency in 15 border settlements.
