Talks ongoing on making Russian drones in some Mideast, North African countries - Rosoboronexport head

MOSCOW/RIYADH. Feb 6 (Interfax) - Rosoboronexport is holding negotiations with partners on producing Russian-designed drones in a number of countries, and there are such projects in the Middle East and North Africa, the Russian company's head Alexander Mikheyev said.

"Indeed, Rosoboronexport is now holding consultations to localize the production of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles in a number of countries. We have projects both in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as in other regions of the world," Mikheyev told Interfax on the sidelines of the World Defense Show 2024 in Riyadh.

"We are now in talks on localizing the production of drones on customers' territory, on working jointly to create promising samples based on the Russian side's serious competencies in their development and combat use," he said.

Rosoboronexport offers partners its services for building local and regional high technology service centers to repair and maintain unmanned aerial systems from various producers, Mikheyev said.
