NIZHNY TAGIL, Sverdlovsk region. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Russia's T-90 Proryv tank is currently the best in the world, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, adding that new types of equipment should be developed as well.
While speaking to employees of the Uralvagonzavod plant on Thursday, Putin said, "Some equipment will go," such as the T-62 and T-72 tanks developed back in Soviet times.
"We need new advanced hardware, including the machines that you make, like the T-90 Proryv tank," Putin said.
The T-90 Proryv is "the best tank in the world without any exaggeration," Putin said. "Both our guys, tank operators, say this, and the enemy also admits that this is the best machine in the world," Putin said, adding that this tank "should be developed further."
"We'll have to think about new generations of equipment," Putin said.
"Our engineers and designers know what they should work on, and are already working now," he said.
