MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - The Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and its satellite town Energodar, home to the NPP's staff and their families, have been attacked once again, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"On February 14 between 6 p.m. and 6:40 p.m., the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out an attack on Energodar using unmanned aerial strike vehicles. One hit an administrative building, three others were suppressed using EW systems," the ministry said on Thursday.
Kiev has yet again demonstrated complete disregard for the safe operation of civilian nuclear facilities and its desire to achieve its ends by any means, including by endangering the lives and health of the plant's staff, the ministry said.
"We expect the leadership of the IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency] to take a responsible position and to point unequivocally to Kiev as the sole source of threats to the reliable functioning of the Zaporozhye NPP," the ministry's website said.
