Aliyev appoints Asadov Azerbaijani PM, fully reinstates former government

BAKU. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev appointed Ali Asadov prime minister on Friday.

The executive order appointing Asadov prime minister is published on the presidential website.

Earlier on Friday, the Azerbaijani parliament confirmed Asadov as prime minister.

Asadov was born in Baku on November 30, 1956.

He has been Azerbaijani prime minister since October 8, 2019.

In line with the constitution, the Azerbaijani government stepped down on February 14, following Aliyev's inauguration.

Another order from the president approved the new government.

The government was left as it was before, and all deputy prime ministers, ministers, and heads of state committees and agencies have retained their positions.

The Azerbaijani government has 34 members.
