MOSCOW. Feb19 (Interfax) - Russian President, Armed Forces Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin has sent a telegram to commander of the central group of forces Andrey Mordvichev to commend units and detachments that distinguished themselves in taking control of Avdeyevka, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday.
"Earlier today, the central group of forces developed the offensive and took full control of Avdeyevka in the Donetsk People's Republic," the telegram said.
"I express my gratitude to all forces that fought for Avdeyevka under your lead for the exemplary operation. Eternal glory to the heroes who died achieving objectives of the special military operation," the telegram said.
Earlier on Saturday, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu informed Putin of the Russian forces taking full control of Avdeyevka in Donbas, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
