MOSCOW. Feb 20 (Interfax) - The Moscow City Court has convicted Russian citizen Igor Kondratsky of treason and sentenced him to 18 years in a high-security penitentiary, the court press service told Interfax on Tuesday.
"The court has sentenced Kondratsky to 18 years in a high-security penitentiary with two years of freedom limitations," the press service said.
Kondratsky was stripped of the military rank of reserve colonel.
He was found guilty of treason.
The court met in camera, as materials in the proceeding were classified.
There were no official reports on details of the Kondratsky case. Certain media outlets assumed that Kondratsky was a member of the diplomatic service.
