MINSK. Feb 20 (Interfax) - Western special services are plotting an act of provocation in Poland to put the blame on Russia and Belarus, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.
"We are aware of all scenarios of various provocations and extremist actions involving fighters in Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania obtained by our intelligence services, and we immediately make them public as much as possible. Now we're going to keep up with this tradition. There's another piece of intelligence. I'll quote literally, which is important to the Poles in this case: Polish and American intelligence services are preparing a major provocation against civilians in Poland, for which they'll blame Russia and Belarus," Lukashenko said at an expanded session with senior national security officials in Minsk on Tuesday. He was quoted by the First Man's Pool Telegram channel close to the Belarusian presidential press service.
"Simultaneously, Warsaw is trying to recruit high-ranking Belarusian officials," Lukashenko said. "They'll be looking for and creating new figures here, who are supposed to be loyal to the West and more efficient. All methods will be employed, from banal bribing and blackmail to threats to the lives and health aimed at you and your relatives and loved ones. Anyone can be under the magnifying glass," he said.
