MOSCOW. Feb 20 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring) has added United States Senator Lindsey Graham of the Republican Party to the list of individuals and organizations believed to be involved in extremist or terrorist activities.
Rosfinmonitoring added the new entry to its list on Tuesday.
The law requires banks to freeze assets of individuals and entities on said list and halt their servicing.
In addition to Graham, Rosfinmonitoring's updated list also includes environmentalist Yevgenia Chirikova (designated as a foreign agent in Russia).
Russia has declared Graham wanted, as follows from the Interior Ministry's database of wanted persons.
Russian Investigative Committee Chairman Alexander Bastrykin earlier ordered opening a criminal investigation against Graham in the wake of his remarks about deaths of Russian people in the special military operation in Ukraine.
