Russian Defense Ministry reports destroying U.S.-made Patriot launcher in special military operation zone

MOSCOW. Feb 22 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has reported destroying a launcher and a loading truck for a Patriot surface-to-air missile system in the special military operation zone.

"Russian tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, and missile and artillery forces have struck a launcher and a loading truck for a U.S.-made Patriot surface-to-air missile system, as well as personnel and military hardware of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 114 areas," the ministry said on Thursday.

Russian air defense systems have downed an S-200 guided surface-to-air missile modified to strike ground targets, eight rockets fired from a HIMARS multiple rocket launcher, and a JDAM guided air bomb over the past 24 hours, it said.

"In addition, 95 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed near Chervonopopovka and Golikovo in the Lugansk People's Republic, Staromlynovka in the Donetsk People's Republic, Verbovoye, Novofedorovka, and Tokmak in the Zaporozhye region, and Novaya Mayachka in the Kherson region," it said.
