MOSCOW. Feb 26 (Interfax) - Moscow will fully clarify Yerevan's stance on membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), as the CSTO Charter does not envisage the status of 'frozen membership,' Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
Journalists asked Peskov on Monday whether there was any clarity regarding Armenia's continued membership in CSTO following the comment by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on freezing Yerevan's involvement in the organization. "No, there is no clarity just yet. Our contacts with Armenian partners are quite frequent and, of course, we will clarify that," he said.
"Because if we look at the corresponding documents, there is simply no such status [frozen membership] de jure within the CSTO. We will communicate and find out," Peskov said.
