MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - Russian forces have taken better positions and repelled three counterattacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kherson sector, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
"As a result of intensive actions in the Kherson sector, Russian units have taken better positions and repelled three counterattacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' 118th Mechanized Brigade near Rabotino in the Zaporozhye region," the ministry said.
It reported striking concentrations of troops and hardware of the Ukrainian 65th Mechanized Brigade and 128th Mountain Assault Brigade, the 23rd National Guard Brigade, and the 121st Territorial Defense Brigade near Nesteryanka in the Zaporozhye region and Ilyinka in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
"The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 40 troops, two infantry vehicles and two trucks. A Bukovel-AD ECM station was destroyed," the ministry said.
