Putin: Russia ready for strategic stability dialogue with U.S

MOSCOW. Feb 29 (Interfax) - Russia is ready to discuss strategic stability with the United States, but it is impossible to hold this dialogue seriously on the backdrop of the West's declaration of its plans to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia on the battlefield, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his address to the Federal Assembly on Thursday.

"Russia is ready for a dialogue on strategic stability with the United States," Putin said.

"But I would like to emphasize - so that everyone understands me correctly - we are dealing in this case with a country whose ruling circles are taking openly hostile actions towards us. Do they really plan to discuss strategic stability with us while trying, as they admit, to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia on the battlefield?" Putin said.
