KRASNODAR. March 7 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Krasnodar, where he is expected to visit the Higher Military Aviation School and the largest sambo sport center in southern Russia on Thursday.
The Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots was founded in 1938 as the 30th Military Pilot School in Chita. The school moved to Krasnodar in 1960.
Nowadays, the school trains pilots in five military specialties for the Russian Armed Forces, federal authorities, and foreign states.
The Sambo Palace is part of a large-scale Sport City project in Krasnodar. It is the largest sambo center in southern Russia. It was built within 18 months and accommodates 3,000 spectators. The first major sambo tournament will be take place at the center in May as the finals of the Summer Spartakiad of Russian students.
