Russian Pacific Fleet ships hold artillery drills in Sea of Japan

VLADIVOSTOK. March 7 (Interfax) - The Russian Pacific Fleet's Gromky and Sovershenny corvettes conducted an artillery live-fire exercise in the Sea of Japan, the fleet's press service said in a statement.

"At one of the fleet's maritime training ranges in the Sea of Japan, the ships held a series of drills firing artillery weapons at targets imitating a mock enemy warship," the statement said.

A standard A-190 onboard artillery system was fired at a seaborne screen during the exercise, it said.

Onboard machineguns were also used against mock enemy floating mines, it said.
