Denmark allocates $337 mln to procure artillery, ammo for Ukraine - Danish Defense Ministry

BRUSSELS. March 13 (Interfax) - Denmark will provide $337 million to buy artillery systems, mortars and ammo for Ukraine, Western media said on Tuesday, citing the Danish Defense Ministry.

In particular, the money will be used to buy Caesar self-propelled artillery systems, the ministry said. The aid will be given via the Ukraine Facility totaling $10.1 billion.

The Danish authorities said they would finance the delivery of Caesar self-propelled artillery systems together with France, while the delivery of 155mm rounds will be financed together with Estonia and Czechia.

The ministry did not give further details about raising funds or delivering weapons to Ukraine.

Copenhagen and Kiev signed a ten-year security agreement in late February. According to some sources, Denmark ranks fourth by the amount of military assistance to Ukraine.

Media also said that France announced the establishment of a coalition of over 50 countries in January to provide Ukraine with artillery systems.
