About 400 residents evacuated from Graivoron district in Russia's Belgorod region - governor

VORONEZH. March 15 (Interfax) - Governor of Russia's Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov has reported the evacuation of residents of the Graivoron district's villages on the border with Ukraine due to the difficult situation in the area.

"As for the results of my visit to the Graivoron urban district yesterday, around 400 residents of Gora-Podol, Glotovo and Kozinka were evacuated overnight with their consent from their homes with the help of self-defense forces and Defense Ministry servicemen," Gladkov said on social media on Friday.

Assistance will be provided to all people who will decide to relocate, he said.

Gladkov said earlier that there were no Ukrainian troops in the region and that fighting was ongoing outside it.

The village of Kozinka sustained serious damage, he said. Its residents have been evacuated to places where they are now safe.
